You’re always welcome to drop by.

We are located on the Marineterrein. This is a large site without street names, which means that finding IJsfontein might be a small challenge. But we are going to help you!

The Marineterrein can be reached in two ways: via the main entrance on the Kattenburgerstaat or via the black bicycle bridge on the Dijksgracht.

Route to IJsfontein

route to ijsfontein amsterdam

On Foot

From Amsterdam CS, it will take about 20 minutes walking or 7 minutes cycling. Walk out of the CS from the back (IJ side) and turn right. From there, walk/cycle along the Piet Heinkade until you see the Mövenpick Hotel on your left. There you can go down using a pedestrian stairway.

Once downstairs, you turn left and go along the water past the Delirium café and then turn left again and go underneath the road and the railway. Continue straight on until you can go no further. You are then on the Dijksgracht. Turn left. As you walk along, you will see the railway to your left and to your right are two restaurants (Hannekes Boom and Medamatic). After passing Mediamatic, take the next right turn and cross the black bicycle bridge.
Well done! You are now on the Marineterrein.

IJsfontein is situated in the brick building on the right. We share it with the Scheepskameel restaurant, and you will find us in the back part of the building. Our main entrance is on the side facing the water.

By Public Transport

(On foot or by bike)
Follow the blue line in the image: Leave the station through the back entrance. If you see water instead of buildings, you are in the right place. Turn right and follow the Piet Heinkade until you see the Mövenpick Hotel on your left. Take the footpath downstairs and turn left. You’ll see the water on your right and the Delirium Café on your left. Turn left and follow the road under the overpass and railway. At the end of the road, you’ll see a street called ‘Dijksgracht’. Turn left and follow the road until you see a narrow bridge on the right. Cross the bridge. IJsfontein is situated in the long red brick building. Just walk along the side facing the water and you’ll find our main entrance on the far side of the building.
