Experience Museum für Kommunikation in Bern through interactive installations

Challenge

There is more to communication than just sending a letter or making a phone call. At the Museum für Kommunikation in Bern, you can see and experience the many facets of communication.

The museum is getting a new layout and wants its information to come across to its visitors with an even greater experience.

Solution

IJsfontein, in collaboration with Kossmann.dejong, designed the new interior of Museum für Kommunikation. Kossmann.dejong was responsible for the interior and IJsfontein for the interactive installations. IJsfontein designed twelve interactive installations, each presenting a different aspect of communication. Installations such as Filmkaraoke, where you can add your own voice to short scenes from well-known films, Eettafelspel, where visitors have a conversation with a family, or Profiler, which, by asking you how you create your own image, makes you aware of your own behaviour.

Impact

IJsfontein's interactive installations give visitors an additional insight into the world of communication. Museum für Kommunikation won in 2019 the Council of European Museum Prize.
