Lister
App that gets mental health patients on the move
Challenge
Did you know that people with a serious mental illness die an average of 10 to 25 years earlier than people in good health? But exercise is actually vital for mental patients. How can we motivate these people to exercise every day? This creates a win-win situation, as it motivates both clients and supervisors to exercise more.
Once goals have been set, players are reminded of their goals every day. By marking their progress, they can earn different houses that create a city. In a subtle way, you, the player, create a graph that shows the effect of movement on your state of mind.
Solution
IJsfontein developed Mūva for Lister and UMC Utrecht; an app that helps people engage in daily physical activity. In Mūva, everyone can set their own goals, allowing both clients and caregivers to play the game together, each at their own level. This creates a win-win situation, as both clients and caregivers are motivated to be more active.

Impact
Mūva gets mental patients moving in an accessible way. In addition, the caregivers of these patients also have a good tool for discussing daily exercise.
