Game dedicated to fire prevention
Challenge
An increasing number of fires are being caused by (faulty) electrical appliances or by incorrect charging behaviour. This is why the Nederlandse Brandwonden Stichting wants to draw attention to this during Fire Prevention Weeks 2019.
How can we ensure that their message is properly communicated to children and that they learn how best to use electrical appliances in a playful way?
Solution
IJsfontein has developed Brandweer zoekt Speurneuzen for the Brandwondenstichting. In Brandweer zoekt Speurneuzen, children in grades 7 & 8 (9 - 12 years old) are challenged to find the cause of the fire in Ward's and Milan's house like a real fire investigator.
Find out different information by talking to residents and bystanders. You will need this information to fit the timeline. You can also search the house for items that may have started the fire.
Impact
Participation in the game during Fire Prevention Weeks was a great success. In one month, the game was played 50,000 times. And on Wiki-Wise (platform for teachers to find online content), Brandweer zoekt Speurneuzen gets 5 out of 5 stars.
